After looking at a quilt that my mother-in-law made using Newfoundland tartan we noticed that the pattern in the tartan did not match up properly. I decided to look online to see how other people who used Newfoundland tartan put the quilts together. Here are some pictures that I found. I liked the idea of putting a solid block in the center of each piece of tartan, so this is what I have decided to do as well.
I'm happy you learned how to put the solid post in the sash joining, but would have loved it more if you had mentioned who had made the quilts that you used in your blog.
