I am using this blog to document my journey into quilt making. I am currently working on my first quilt which is part of a creative assignment for a masters course. I am going to attempt to tell my story through a memory quilt. I invite you all to share your own quilting stories and welcome any tips that you may have.

Pictures of Newfoundland Quilts
After looking at a quilt that my mother-in-law made using Newfoundland tartan we noticed that the pattern in the tartan did not match up properly. I decided to look online to see how other people who used Newfoundland tartan put the quilts together. Here are some pictures that I found. I liked the idea of putting a solid block in the center of each piece of tartan, so this is what I have decided to do as well.
Pictures of Quilts
These are some of the quilts that I liked. Although some of these quilts have more completed designs then I feel that I am capable of making as a beginning quilter, I hope that one day I will be able to create these types of quilts. I chose pictures of these quilts because I liked the patterns and colours that they incorporated.
